The Fuma Ninjas
Hope for an Old way of Life
P# 1
Chantel’s Fuma ninja clan began in the days of two of the most revered ninjas in Japan’s history, Momochi Sandayu and Hanzo Hattori. Lanhg of Iga witnessed the death of one of his greatest inspirations for becoming a ninja, Hanzo Hattori, who was killed at the hands of the Fuma ninjas. Lanhg vowed revenge, and he got it, but at a great cost: the death of his ninja master Yamachi. What followed after Yamachi's death, would be perhaps the longest grudge between two ninja clans, Loh-Chi-Lanhg and The Fuma ninjas.
After Lanhg defeated Yachiro, (a sub-leader of one of the Fuma divisions), the Fuma ninja grand master, who claimed to be a true descendant of Fuma Kotaro, stepped in and nearly wiped out Lanhg’s ninja clan. Fortunately for Lanhg, he found refuge among Loh and Chi, who had a large and well-established organization composed of Ronins and martial artists.
Loh and Chi were looking to expand their organization; however, Loh, being one of the last honorable samurai, was reluctant to bring ninjas into his organization. Chi was a visionary, and could see the great asset that Lanhg and his ninjas could be to their organization. Knowing that there were going to be tasks that only ninjas could accomplish, Chi convinced Loh to bring Lanhg into the organization.
Loh accepted Chi’s reasoning and decided to bring in Lanhg and his ninjas (the few that remained after Fuma Kotaro’s attack). The Fuma ninjas now had a greater task before them, especially with Loh at the helm of the organization that had given refuge to Lanhg of Iga. It was said that Loh had a marvelous sword forged by the Celestial Dragon, and no opponent had ever defeated him.
Through the pass of time, the Fuma ninjas fought relentlessly against Loh-Chi-Lanhg, but had no success. One of the reasons they were unsuccessful was that many Fuma ninja masters failed to lead the Fuma ninjas in prosperous ways, but rather attempted to reach leadership for personal reasons. Many of the Fuma ninjas left the clan but were forced to come back, as they knew no other way of life. However, things were going to change.

Around 1827, an ambitious ninja named Sao Sheng emerged. His father was a Fuma ninja, and after seeing the weak leadership they had for the longest time, he instructed Sao to take over the leadership of the Fuma ninjas at all cost. Just before his father died, Sao promised him that he would take control of the Fuma ninjas and lead them in prosperous ways.
Sao started moving up the ninja ranks swift and viciously. Within a year, he was already a sub-master of one Fuma division and had won the respect and support of eighty percent of his division. His next move would be to eliminate the ninja master of his division and then take his place.
It was going to be an easy task. Sao was an expert at both ninja skills, the attacks and the stealth, especially the stealth. (It was said that Sao didn’t use a consistent running pattern, but rather odd leaping patterns. This would confuse anyone following him, as he would leave large gaps between tracks.) His stealth skills were so incredible that many thought he moved like the wind.
When their division clashed with the Iga ninjas, Sao decided it was time to eliminate the ninja master. They had lost many ninjas, but mostly those who didn’t support Sao. During the battle, the ninja master was surrounded by Iga ninjas, yet, none of his Fuma ninjas came to his aid. He was abandoned and terminated at the hands of the Iga ninjas, while Sao and his ninjas watched from the shadows.
Afterwards, Sao reported to the ninja grand master, who claimed to be a descendant of the Fuma Kotaro’s bloodline. As expected, when reports were made of the ninja master’s death, Sao, the sub-master ninja, was appointed as ninja master of the division.

Throughout the years, Sao’s division grew the fastest and strongest of all the Fuma divisions. Eventually, the ninja grand master became suspicious of Sao, thinking that he was building his own clan. He decided to begin investigating him, as he wanted to be sure before taking any action, for Sao Sheng’s division was the most powerful of all the Fuma divisions and the greatest asset to the ninja grand master.
Investigating Sao however, was not going to be easy. Many thought he had some sort of sixth sense, giving him the ability to sense people’s motives when they approached him, and he wouldn’t hesitate to act upon his senses. Aside from that, all the ninjas in his division respected him and looked up to him as the greatest ninja master ever to come up the Fuma ninja ranks.
The ninja grand master somehow learned that Sao was indeed creating his own clan. When Sao found out that the grand master had learned of his plan, he knew what was coming, and Immediately he assembled his ninjas and passed on one single instruction; “Eliminate the grand master at all cost.”
Sao launched a full-scale assault against the Fuma division of the grand master, in broad daylight. They couldn’t wait for night fall, as by then the grand master would’ve had his ninjas ready.
Sao and his ninjas dashed down the mountains like the wind. He knew they would have the upper hand if they struck first, and he was right. All the grand master saw was a large dark cloud flowing down the mountain, and then he was no more.

Sao proved victorious, for his ninjas had more extensive training and new techniques, while the rival ninjas from the grand master's division failed to improve theirs. After Sao finished off the ninja grand master, he appointed himself as the one true Fuma Kotaro, and all his ninjas cheered him on.
But Sao was not as merciless as many thought, and were surprised when he gave the surviving ninjas from the grand master’s division a chance to join him, which they accepted.
Unfortunately, as our world became more and more modern, the ninjas were becoming less fitting. Sao saw this and worried that they were heading towards extinction. But, hope was on the horizon, as a young girl’s path would one day cross Sao’s. He would turn her into one of the deadliest Fuma ninjas ever, and order her to carry the Fuma ninja lore to the Western.
The Fuma ninjas came across a young African American girl. They abducted her and trained her to become a Fuma ninja, perhaps one of the few female ninjas in Fuma’s history. Her name was Chantel. She would bring the lore of the Fuma ninjas to the Western world (USA), based on the orders of her grand master ninja Sao Sheng. Chantel would found a ninja clan, to forever preserve the legacy and lore of the Fuma ninjas.
