Yhen T'za Ghero™
Founders of the Ninja Lore

P# 1

Yhen T'za Ghero's history dates as far back as the Wei Dynasty, when the Shaolin temple was built, around 495 AD. They were descendants of the mountain monks from the Henan Province in China, and were devoted to their land and culture. They viewed their country as one of the most sacred lands on the planet, and the Ming Dynasty, which was perhaps one of the most prosperous Dynasty, increased the value of this belief. However, things were changing: cultures were beginning to mix more rapidly as migration to other countries such as Japan and Korea began taking place.

This made some of them feel threatened, as they saw the legacy of their country being taken to other lands. To make matters worse, many of the members of their community, including some of the Shaolin monks, were starting to migrate to Japan. This upset Fenhg Zun, a leader of a group of monks. Things escalated when the grand master monk expressed approval in the migration issues and welcomed those who migrated to their homeland. Fenhg Zun, with the caliber of a grand master monk (even though he wasn’t), stood in front of the grand master and told him that he was growing soft and bringing shame to the Shaolin temple.

All the monks were shocked, with the exception of Fenhg Zun’s supporters, a considerable number of about three hundred. The grand master did not feel insulted, as he was well disciplined, but he did confront Fenhg Zun right then and there. He said to him, “I believe you're the one who is becoming soft, young Fenhg. We must be prepared to adapt to the changes of time. If you believe we're loosing our traditions, then you're free to go and follow your own path.” Fenhg replied, “We don't have to leave, the temple is as much yours as it is ours!" "And what do you want us to do?” the grand master replied. “Split the temple?” “No!" said Fenhg. “The temple can only be occupied by one ideal, and yours has become flawed, leaving us as the rightful heirs to the temple.” “You really believe you can take care of this temple as I have?” The grand master questioned. Fenhg angrily said to the grand master, “I challenge you to a duel! After I defeat you, you and your followers will leave the temple!”

Fenhg’s challenge came as a surprise to the grand master. Further more, it wounded him, as he always saw Fenhg as a son, just like many of the monks in the temple. Nevertheless, the grand master had to stand firm, and apply discipline as needed. He now said to Fenhg. “You have lost the foundation of this temple. You have become something else, which is totally against our teachings.” He said this as they walked towards the temple’s yard, where the duel was to take place.

The intense duel began shortly, and it lasted thirty minutes. In the end of course, the grand master proved victorious, as he was far more skilled and experienced than Fenhg. The grand master then went on to say; “Leave this temple Fenhg, and take your followers with you. Never step foot in this temple again.” Those words echoed in Fenhg’s head. Defeated yet unashamed by it, Fenhg Zun and his three hundred followers left the temple. But, that was only the beginning.

Fenhg, was already planning to return for a rematch, and his first step towards defeating the grand master was to develop new techniques, totally different from the ones they had been taught. Nevertheless, their immediate concern was to find a new home, since they’ve just been expelled from the Shaolin Temple. Fenhg, along with his three hundred followers made their way to another mountain, where they camped.

The following morning they inspected the area, and found it suitable to build their own temple. The process was going to be long, as Fenhg was planning to actually carve the temple inside the mountain. Fenhg and his followers spent the next five years developing new techniques, and used the construction of their temple as part of the development, specifically for tests of endurance. It made the construction more pleasing. Sun Tzu’s writings had a great influence in the development of Fenhg’s new techniques.

After five long and arduous years, the temple had only been constructed to about twenty five percent, but Fenhg felt they were ready for revenge. Many of them couldn’t wait to try their new techniques against their enemies, the Shaolin monks. Their original plan was to strike at night, but Fenhg wanted his former brothers, specially the grand master monk who had defeated him, to see his nemesis, and decided to attack at dawn. They suited up from head to toe, with unique black clothing that Fenhg had design, and set out on their vengeful assault. Like wild animals, they dashed down the mountains and through the forest, on their way towards their prey, the Shaolin monks!
